Period Swimwear Advice
Find practical period swimwear advice for training, competition and active days around water. Start with how swim-specific period protection works, then choose the advice that matches how you swim.
How does period swimwear work?
Period swimwear combines an absorbent core with a leak-resistant barrier and a water-resistant outer layer. The absorbent layers manage menstrual flow, while the outer layer helps limit pool or sea water from saturating the product.
Swim-specific period protection is designed for use in water. Ordinary period underwear is designed for everyday wear and can absorb pool or sea water, making it heavier and less effective for swimming.
Capacity, fit and recommended wear vary by product. Compare UnderSwim OG and UnderSwim G-Fit, or browse the complete period swimwear collection.

Period swimwear questions
Does period swimwear work?
Swim-specific period underwear is designed to manage menstrual flow in water when it is correctly fitted and used within its stated absorbency and wear guidance. The right option depends on your flow, swimwear cut and planned time in the water.
Can you wear ordinary period underwear swimming?
Ordinary period underwear is not designed for pool or sea water. It can absorb water, become heavy and provide less reliable protection. Use period swimwear made specifically for swimming.
